3D Editor

The 3D Editor is no longer the recommended way to upload 3D content to Connec2.

For new projects, we recommend using the Connec2 XR Toolkit for Blender. This allows you to build interactive scenarios directly using a more extensive set of Building Blocks, and export everything at once as a Connec2 project file.

With the 3D Editor, you can publish 3D models to your workspace via Connec2 Uplink.

This method is mainly suited for existing workflows or simple adjustments to 3D content.

When should you still use the 3D Editor?

The 3D Editor is mainly useful for:

  • Small adjustments that are convenient to make in VR
  • Adding Connec2-specific properties
  • Publishing simple 3D content to your workspace

When should you avoid using the 3D Editor?

We recommend not using the 3D Editor for:

  • New interactive scenarios
  • Complex scenes with many different models
  • Fixes to source assets or heavy model optimization

Instead, use the XR Toolkit in Blender.
